SPARK Leadership Programme goes virtual; provides profound impact on B40 youths

THE SPARK Leadership Programme serves to help Malaysian youth discover their leadership potential; provide essential leadership tools and motivate participants to make a difference in their communities; and encourage unity by building a deeper understanding between cultures and a sense of appreciation for the multicultural society in Malaysia.

Now in its sixth year running, the Programme conducted its first-time and one-of-its-kind experience for the first batch of virtual SPARK campers held on Dec 5, 12 and 19-20, the SPARK Leadership Programme saw 60 campers – majority of whom from B40 communities, embarking on a month-long leadership development programme.

A country’s vibrant future depends on its youth, and in that spirit, Leaderonomics Community is excited to announce their Youth Leadership Program (YLP), a new initiative that strives to grow youths into leaders that will help transform and shape our nation. 

There are more than 14.6 million Malaysians aged between 15-39 years old; a staggering 45% of our population, according to the National Statistics Department. Offered to youths between the ages of 13-18 years old from the B40 and refugee community in Malaysia, YLP enables these future leaders to gain access to inspiring, high quality, and relevant online leadership development modules, insights and mentorship that will equip them to lead and serve in the future.

Leaderonomics club took this issue and wants the young minds to brainstorm and come with ideas in four categories - Create awareness, Preventive measures, Rescue, and Evacuation. It conducted a “Make A Difference - Project Banjir” competition. 

 

Anticipating A Digital Economy Transformation: Are Our Youths Ready?

Realising the importance of developing leadership competencies in empowering young individuals to be resilient, agile, and adaptable, Leaderonomics Community & the MAD (Make A Difference) Movement, a social enterprise focused on leadership development is launching its 2022 Community Survey.

The survey, with the theme of “Digital Readiness” seeks to gain deeper insights from various stakeholders. The findings will be used to build and determine the direction of its programmes, ensuring that they will be geared and highly targeted towards intentional building of future leaders in this new age and context.
